Brio Gusto and By Chadsey’s Cairns Again
Wednesday evening, I was once again blown away by the culinary skills and imagination of Lindsey, owner and chef, at Brio Gusto in Peterborough. When in Peterborough do check them out, downtown on Charlotte St.
The fried gnocchi, the vegetarian charcuterie featuring smoked salmon tasting carrots, the pork belly…in fact all seven tapas partners with our wines were exquisite.
This was the first of our evenings to celebrate our 2015 vintage wines at four Ontario restaurants, Brio Gusto, Allens on the Danforth (Toronto), Wellington Gastro Pub (Ottawa), and East and Main here in the County.
The Gastro Pub is up next in April with only 3 seats remaining, otherwise both evenings are full. We never even posted a menu.
Allens and East and Main take place in early May. Menus available soon.
Unlike most county wineries that were devastated by the late May frost of 2015 we had eight wines harvested in commercial quantities. Although the Chenin and Gamay are already sold out we are still able to celebrate the Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Muscat, White Horse, PTO, and Rosessence from what turned out to be an above average quality year.
